the school is the ass and we are the bowls.

ultimately, the school serves as a facility or institute of education but it also keeps your brain busy and blood boiling. it is the second best enforcer of stress (first being work).

well, my POM project has just been submitted on friday, thank the lords half of it is done and i have to say, well done my group mates! now, let's scratch our heads and think how the heck are we to present (say for the slides part) our proposal without looking like clowns or last-minute understudies during a skit.

well, marketing fundamentals has been sailing quite smoothly, we just need diagrams, double structures for our content and we're set for an A, or else we'll all be in deep shit. I only scored a C+ for the mid-sem test, how pathetic is that!

anyway, this is how i did, i can safely say it's about the same as the first semester's test scores. -.-

Business Statistics: A
Marketing Fundamentals: C+
Business Accounting 2: B+ ( i just need 1 more mark for an A, but noooo..its not theory, geez)
Principles of Management: A
Microeconomics: B

well, i just want a GPA above 3.5 this time so i can at least hope for an SMU entrance test. foog!

my CDS group mates aren't helping me to attain that. Let's just say that i picked the wrong part to do (cos it takes a whole lot of time) and my assistant keeps doing my parts, which i have to claim credit for to pass. yaaa-hoo. He also just gave me a spin-around to manage by editing his summary draft, trust me, its bad and he's older than me. i want to die.

i am the sun, says a test.

wow, i think the weather-god or whomever (pardon my lack of knowledge) saw my blog post/ heard my endless lamenting on the weather. the sun is back up to shine and will one day bake us all crispy brown.

i'm currently typing this blogpost with half my sanity, attention span and strength, i did gym and much project-related work and i feel like a tired work horse who just can't fall asleep.

anyway, even though my blog isn't popular as much as how it is NEVER read rather, i will still continue to write for my biggest fan, me. the show must go on!

so anyway, it never occured to me that my body can actually take so much strain and stress with so little sleep. i feel sorry for my brain, it's not getting enough rest and yet it's doing so much thinking. already in my project groups its very important to submit ideas, but with little sleep, it almost seemed impossible. then, without me realizing, i gave lots of ideas, i don't know how, maybe its because i didn't want to let my group mates down, especially kai xuan, cos she works REALLY hard. or maybe i don't want to taint my own grades, could be a good mix of both, but ultimately, it still boils down to my personality, i don't give up easily.

but this persistence will kill me one day, i don't know how, but it may. or maybe some brain disease derived from this constant lack of sleep. or maybe, heart disease.

oh well, back to the light of matters.

i was watching The Arena on Channel 5 for 2 consecutive weeks, oh my lordy lord lord, RI lost to Loyang Sec, it was so damn amusing to see them lost. here are the reasons i gathered;
i.) boy 1 was some monotonous toad, boy 2 was alright la, boy 3 was some fat snob trying to speak like some duke from old england.
ii.) during the last round, RI failed to identify Loyang's cause, which was damn funny cos the fat toad was insisting that they are reflecting the wrong image.
iii.) they got intimidated by the butch from loyang sec.

lol. and MGS beat St. Nicholas Girls, of which the former took a thorough bashing. 3 words, out of point.

ah well, i'm off to complete thy project of harm. todaloo?

in (light) the dark of torrential rain and the gloom

oh, so we thought that the torrential rain was over, hogwash! it caused ANOTHER flood, in fact, a few more floods, not here, but in the region. but its damn frustrating la, the days are always downers, the only thing positive note i can find through this rain is the temperature and how it allows long naps. sleeping through has never been so...comforting.

the rain has obviously gotten many of us sick as well, in the turn of events, i am well once again and i seek to keep myself healthy till the end of the year AND i don't use dettol, i heard that over-usage can cause conformity, the viruses start attacking if you withdraw the usage. wow, it's kinda like a drug.

ok, i shall wrap it up here, cos i was supposed to do my Statistics and Marketing Fundamentals tutorials at 10pm, it is now 12 am and still their both not done. fuck this: creating financial statements out of practically nothing. making sense from nothing is really either:
virtually impossible or just plain difficult. i plan to sleep at 3.3o tonight.

the new year's gift(s)

i was right when i said the flu bug is so fucking back to haunt us ! the coughing and sneezing i've been hearing from the people around me and of course, my incessant coughing on wednesday night was enough to prove the...umm..widespread epidemic.

before you know it, a couple of centuries later, BAM! the common cold and the humble coughing becomes something that will literally implode your very lungs.

well, at least i'm at the pink of health(or rather, was in the pink of health,it's like an exclusive club), haven't gotten sick in 10 months ++! a new record! comparatively speaking, the school we call secondary is much dirtier than what you can expect in poly. take that, you uniform wearing pipsqueaks.

good news is, i found my tiny bob, it was still lying, untouched on the computer's desk. what honest teachers we have in siglap eh? i wanted to relive once more, the hunger pangs that we had by just being in school for 3 hours like we did in sec 4. the food, nasi ayam, bagedel to name some, to die for la. buy until the aunties gave us discounts, so shiok. like they say, don't starve a student.

Season of joy?

Christmas Day, a happy day, well, at least for the most of us. I don't really feel this happiness, why?

cos i've got a fucking headache, i'm still waiting for the firm to finish their renovations so I can go register myself for a job. Yes, Asiacom ditched us again, well, my options have just been reduced, its just another parapet wall that's fragile and can't serve as my lean-to anymore.woohoo. but considering i had lots of x'mas goodies to chow down, then its not as bad, cos its a distraction. pffft.

i hate fresh school leavers, so eager to steal what could've been your job, yet so lazy. I did some blog hopping and found a few people complaining about the troubles faced at work. well well, all i can say is that, that's corporate backstabbing, you can deny it, but it remains existent and intangible as it is UNLESS you make a difference. I think Sun Tzu mentioned something about defence, go read it up, it's going to help everybody's sorry ass.

crude as i may be, but its too real for me to even explain it.

all i want for christmas is intangible.

Hark the harold's! cos angels sing!

Has anyone ever noticed that, there are so many Santa Clause(s) (ok, how do you say Santa Clause in plural form? Santa Clausi, Santa Clauses, Santa Cli. Santa Clay) that you can't refer to Santa Clause as Santa Clause? Now you address any Santa you see by saying " I saw A santa, not THE santa", cos you can't be sure.

3 things worth popping a bottle of champagne over:

1.) I've got the Asiacom job, AGAIN. woohoo!
2.) I've no problems with accounting, WOOHHOO!!!
3.) I've not really studied much for the rest except marketing and microeconomics, WOO...wait, wha?

as reference to no.1, working on weekends rock, cos there's lesser work and lotsa pay to open your hands to. PLUS, working late gets you a bonus, except for weekdays though, we work like slaves for that. But still, if you do most of your work sitting down in an aircon room, what's there to complain?

People should really learn to convey what the fug they are trying to say, because nowadays, communication is so vital, a simple breakdown or miscommunication can cause disasters. Ever seen the Discovery shuttle incident? THAT. It took me like 10 minutes just to freaking understand what the hell the person was trying to convey.

oh btw, FCUK is not a swear word, it stands for French Connection, United Kingdom, get it right you non-swearing fucktards. oops. if you'd try to say it like you'd say Fuck, it'd sound like : FFFF-CAHK. yea.

oh well, i shall now go back into Marketin Fundamentals all over again, because, well, there's just no excuse.

once again, i shall complain

TP has a penchant for setting you up with fugged up timetables, for instance, the one we still have to live with for like 10 weeks and the other will be the messed up term-test timetable. We will have a 7 hour break, woopeedo. Fortunately, they didn't fug up the week after.

If you're wondering why i took so long to post an update, it's because my blob brother's back from Shanghai for 2 weeks till i get a wireless router, nothing will change, he'll still take away the fugging modem, bah!

Today would be Fazzy's birthday, celebrated it at Macdonald's and yes, all of us relived the inner-kid in ourselves, photos later, cos i relied more on the girls than myself to take the initiative. PLUS,(oh boy, is this good) my Macdonald's account was topped up with 1057 points PLUS 254 from another receipt, woohoo! that's like 1050+250+600(the existing points)=1900 points, which when brought down, would convert to like 7 meals, for free. lol.

Oh yea, i got into Diploma in Business, i've crossed over to the light! I figured i didn't want to specialize just as yet, i want to explore my inner self and find what's ultimately right for me (mm,profound) I AM AT ZEN WITH THEE!

when the sun goes down, go and play

Like the title says, everybody needs a life, i choose to hang out on weekends, cos staying at home don't seem right, then again, there are people who will stay home 24/7, as a consumer of public transport, i have them to thank, already rush-hour traffic is fucked up, so if they chipped in their body mass, i'd rather walk.

When night comes, clubbers rejoice, MOS goers, Zouk-ers and what not. I respect MOS alot, it's a great establishment, but the one in Singapore is pretty screwed:

1.) Singaporeans ('nuff said)
2.) Posers
3.) Bengs Lians Mats Minahs and the like

What happened to good ol' club dancing and mixes? I'd visit MOS if item no. 3 was removed, cos i like to laugh at posers.

Zouk is still the granddaddy of clubs in Singapore, for its namesake and its distaste for posers.
DXO is shiat, read no. 3 of the above listed, enough said.

Heck, i don't even club, i'm not legal yet, I won't bother to attend underaged parties (too many kids and wannabes, they'd probably haven't even grown pubic hair yet, much alone know how to tahan alcohol). When i reach 18, my first celebration place will be Father Flannigan's/St James Powerhouse, anywhere with kickin' live bands/football on tv. Or a barbeque with beer/alcohol involved.
I finally got to eat Ramly, after so many frackin' years, the taste still lingers in my mouth, i'd probably die of a heart-attack if i kept eating it.
It's nice to play mahjong with my pals again, i need more of this, though i haven't been winning. sigh.

I WANNA DJ, SOMEBODY BE NICE AND BUY ME A MULTI-TRACK RECORDER, A SAMPLING SET AND TURNTABLES, GAHHH!!!

Ah-hem.

I'm officially reverting back to Coke, no more Coke Light for me.
Now, that I've done some background research (cred: Wikipedia) , Aspartame could be the possible reason behind my recent spate of throbbing headaches and yes, i consume Coke Light by the gallons. Hence, I've decided to stick back to the good ol' red can of funk. Loyal as I have been to Coke, i cannot resist. Cola is my drug.

dire need for a good reality check

wooh, what a week it has been. Tried to catch a movie last week, but noooo, some people had to change plans, puh. BUT... fortunately, the movie was caught the week after, i'm now waiting for Happy Feet and Casino Royale to premier and also an income inflow, i'm as poor as dirt right now.

Flushed away was a good movie, but don't watch it if you don't like part-claymation, part brit-humour. It's based in the sewers of London anyway...so...yea.

gotta make my course designation decision tomorrow, bummer, i can't freggin make up my mind on which course to take up, Business or Marketing. I shan't list the pros and cons of each, cos its just endless.

Das Quote(s) of the day!

During our 9am (dreadful) Principles of Management lecture...

Mrs Lee: .....so they can penetrate(ed:emphasis) the global market

Faiz (looking rather pissed with his laptop's inability to reformat): Penetrate what? Penetrate your mother's ass ah.

2nd quote
Operator: How old are your kids?
Charissa: My kids are very big.
The former must have thought it was a joke, cos Charissa couldn't tahan the humour behind it la...haha.

oh well, gotta go rest for my throbbing headache, it sucks, i think it came from the Tuesday Syndrome, since tuesdays suck.

Das Candyman's Quote of the day

The totally random quote of the day is.........(drum roll, crash cymbals, anything that sounds like anticipation)..........

Ah-hem.

"When life gives you lemons, count yourself lucky, not like everyday some lemon falls from a tree and onto your hand. Do not make lemonade out of it, instead, just eat the damn fruit, cos in Singapore, you need to apply for NEA license to sell anything la, bodoh."

now, to get back to my regular duties, this has been a quote with das candyman, join us next time for more inspired quotes.

wit i haven't seen in a while

-i'm hungry.

I am worth $2,233,588 on HumanForSale.com

halloween cum one-day job stint @ parkroyal hotel

last saturday was the bomb, it was like a pre-halloween company dinner for Adecco, event was managed by Urban Studios, which the latter being the company i was part-timing for.

basically, our job 'scope' was to man 'gambling' tables, since it was themed 'Halloween in Las Vegas'. I was in charge of the Roulette station, Melvin the Blackjack and Ah Meng the Tua(3) Suay(3) (big or small). To the potential gambler, this would be the most boring table alive, since we set it to 'our table-our rules' mode. SO that means if your bet was on number 26 and you won, you'd only like win 3 chips back. That's how cheap my table was, cheap-ass rules=less patrons. Smart move. (yes, i'm kissing my own ass for glory's sake, let me have the moment)

oh, i also got a 'shot' of tequila free, woohoo! and also a free spray-on tattoo, woohoo! woohoo! but at this point of time, it's starting to fade. sigh. on top of that, we also got a free upsized mushroom swiss double meal, talk about perks.

Well, as brian and i have planned earlier, i'm suddenly ignited with zeal to make the binkok'07 trip a success. a retreat other than a chalet would do us some good, since it will be held in march/april, away from the holiday season (thank god). diving and stuff, unchartered booze, the works, with a jolly company, it's really desirable laa..i drool when i think about it now.

well, time to get some sleep, or rather complete my principles of management tutorial questions, i don't really want to get into schoolwork yet, i want to float on this happy mood of mine for a while before i turn emotionless again. oh the relish...

Photos and ramblings

Things to do today:
1.) Get eggs and milk.
2.) Attend lectures
3.) Kill time-tabling commitee
4.) Make it a bloody mess.
Yes, our timetables are pretty fucked. 9~7, it's like a job, only difference is the reversal of roles: i pay, you(school) not. but thank god my cds is like only 1 hour per week. Yes, that probably is the slackiest CDS offered by the school, no lectures or lab sessions, just 1 hour tutorials. Well, at least its not scheduled on wednesday morning. lol.
Anyway, the celebration for kong's birthday was quite fun, it was also a nice gathering for all of us. The steamboat cum grill-off was delicious, say for the soup burning out part. Yes, the soup pot was so dry, it charred all the contents within it.
I'm probably gonna screw up my body clock anyway. pffft. Dynamic my ass, poly scheduling.
Anyway, here are some pictures that i took a week back.

foreign talent.

Living in Singapore is pretty much like living in the whole world itself, bloody diverse. everywhere you go, you will see a bunch of thai/indonesian/bangla(deshi)/Africans/Chinese Nationals and what not. (sorry for pun) Except for those damn atas places la, like Victoria Concert Hall or Raffles Hotel, the closest to seeing them anywhere near the suggested places will be the unfinished construction worksite/sewerage hole/along the road watering the plants. Preeeetty sad.

The Caucasians(or Americans) lead a much better life in Singapore, reliving the colonial reign waaaay back, they have to sip wine and taxi everywhere they go. Sigh, if only the Asians/Africans could do so too. Is it just me or is there a bunch of Singaporeans that have to speak bombastically just to impress these Ang-mohs so to speak. Fellas, accurate english doesn't mean speaking like an English lord from 1823 or some White guy. So stop posing, we know you are. Oh and using big words only make your sentences less cohesive. bah.

Speaking of foreign talent, look at our nation's basketball team, Singapore Slingers so to speak. I attended their match-up against the 'South Dragons' from Australia, they were pretty good. EXCEPT for the matter of the players' nationality itself, there were blacks and whites and 1 chinese fella, that's the only local talent. Sad eh? National team. I kid you not. Aiya, as long as they play good can already la. Just wait for the shame to kick in when they win an award and have their group photo taken and published on the Straits Times as a headline.

So my pal Brian aka DJ Rixban (my fellow DJ-wannabe and Magician) is penning his own short stories about school life and the misadventures that follow, do look it up, its pure randomness
www.osirisxiii.blogspot.com . Have yourself a good read.

Oh btw, i saw May and Choy at the Basketball match-up in the indoor stadium. HOTTTT man...question, why is it that we always run into MTV VJs? Strange.

Photos later, i'm lazy. Or rather, i'm pissed, cos the USB cable to my phone is getting cranky lately. boo.

oh thanks sumatrians, we all needed that haze, the air has been too clean that it's sin to breathe in clean air. the air is so putrid that everyday is a barbeque day. my eyes burn in agony and i have to use artificial tears every 2 hours to prevent it from drying up like a pickle.

money ain't easy to earn, spend wisely, spend wisely.

fiddling around with my ableton, trying to remix and mash up two songs: Moby's Porcelain and Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back. somehow, their beats somehow integrate into each other's beat..mmm, that's a good start....like all pro djs, they started at my age, it's not too late to master ableton and before you know it, i'll have a sampling set in my room!

I'll play critic for a while-don't mean to diss bollywood, but look at this

omg, just look at this, terrible.

1.) From the 1st few seconds of the video, you'd have notice this: the music sounds like any news channel music, before the newscaster(s) actually say(s) anything. Musically-speaking, it's 80s synth meets bollywood meets Channel Newsasia meets non-existent superhero themes.

2.) The flying, look at it, it's standing at a 90 degree angle. The 'Spiderwoman' looks like she's resting on the left side of 'Supermoron's body', it's physically impossible. You can see the studio flooring in the sky.

2.1) The big 'S' on that guy's tights stands for 'Siao'. It's not THAT big you morons.

2.2) Spiderwoman isn't exactly wearing a mask ya'know. Which makes the costume look even more like pajamas.

3.) Question, how the hell do you get strangers to do a choreographed dance sequence and synchronize along with the movements while you seduce a girl??

scenario!!!

Man: "Hey, come and join me in this dance routine lasting 3 minutes! You cannot deny! Honestly, you can't even resist! You're the citizen's superhero after all."

Supermoron: "Ok! But what about the 3 minute dance routine that i have to presumably know before i even start dancing?" What about this bitch?"

Man: "Oh, you'll know (wink*) and she'll know"

~fin~

all these takes place in a nano-second with the characters smiling.

4.) The fighting scene: see how the guy getting punched flies, it costs 30¢ to make that scene happen on film. (approx. figure, may cost lesser than suggested figure) Afterwards the couple does a celebratory dance in honour of defeating 3 useless crooks. The other fella that the superhero punched actually spun slowly in air rougly 7~8 inches away from supermoron's head, amazing. bet he was just tied to the tree.

5.) Question #2: If a deadly bomb explodes while the people are dancing away, how many of them will die?

Ans: All, they're all actors.

6.) Boy, why are Superman and Spiderwoman together? Marvel hates DC comics and have been rivals for the longest time. This is a depiction of every comic geeks dream,a partnership between two inter-company characters, but the technicality of this film is like a zoo with only 1 stray dog on display. The kissing and romancing is so...unreal. Sheer irony.

my modem,it be gone!

oh noh, my modem, it gone! it with fat brother, he make me speak like cave person, hence it have not update update!

ode to cavespeak!

ok,the chalet with 1B11 was a blast! (except for the part where i had to keep myself sane by playing alan's ps2 till 6am.) apart from that (and the channel newsasia marathon, it was great. haven't had a drinking game in a while. it's fun to see people get really wasted when their alcohol tolerance is way way way below what they consumed. guess who were high on the substance (that was alcohol,mr policeman)? s_r_n_ and c_r_n__ , LOL!

since the best photographs are candid, a drunk would make a good photographer,if he/she doesn't start puking all over the SLR. apparently, the former listed drunk had taken a few photographs that were in my opinion, good. except for the sadako lookalike one, i almost got a heart attack seeing that one. i don't know how much those people drank, but its quite alot i heard. i had about half a bottle of korean beer (which tastes funny) and quite a few vodka shots, since i kept losing. absolut vanilla leaves a bitter aftertaste when you had fruit punch and bbq-ed food before. only cheesy snacks cured me of shit-tongue-tasting-syndrome afterwards.

(to be continued)

oh and girls like charissa make baaaaad metal slug players.
