Work has officially started a week ago.
I tells ya, it's what it's said to be, FAST-PACED. It wasn't easy cramming so much info about the products, the database system(s), the phone-ttiquete, the sales officers' names and how to deal with idiots.
I'm really trying damn hard to adjust, not saying that there ain't no progress, but its slow. Cos when I try, there's always something new to bombard me left right and centre. I guess that's what you get for working in a big 'dynamic' company. I just hope my sanity pulls through and leave this place unscathed.
Even typing this makes me feel tired already and I'm not getting old yet.
I'm looking at the clock all the time to watch time pass. Somehow, waiting for the clock to strike 1pm and 6pm becomes a drug. Not a narcotic though. That's when I can go out, get a breather, fill up this stomach of mine and come back refreshed for the next 4 hours. When you're not really enjoying the time, it becomes faster for you to wear yourself out. I mean, I used to be able to survive a 9am-7pm in TP and that's because I bloody love it in school (though i yearn to go home for a good sleep). Getting up at bloody 7am was never easy, doing it everyday is even worse. Let's break down how I will work for the remaining 11 weeks:
7am- Get up and go freshen up (ie. poop, bathe, brush teeth)
7.20am- Get dressed, style hair
7.30- Have some breakfast
7.40- Leave the house and walk to the MRT station
7.50- Leave on a train already semi-packed with people when it came from Tampines (if this isn't kiasuism, i don't know what is).
8.30- Reach City Hall, walk to Millenia Tower
8.50- Reach the office, read TODAY and gather quota.
9am- Start work, beginning with routine 1.
10am- Call customers (oh yay)
11am- Routine 2
12pm- Call customers
1pm- Lunch (the joy)
2pm- Routine 2
3pm- Routine 3, collect faxes and mail-in forms and process (ie. call the customers)
4pm- Routine 4
5pm- Settle lots of stuff (ie. the mess that i made) and call customers
6pm- Balek Kampong.
7.15pm- Home sweet home.
And i do that everyday.
With any hope, i do pray for a transfer to deal with HR instead. Really.
Sigh.
